The Hantavirus and Ebola are making news now. The common factor across all types of viral infections is contact between humans and animals. Even those who deliberately spread infections artificially can transmit them to humans through animals. Whether the germs are natural or artificially engineered in a lab, they ultimately spread from animals. The phenomenon observed so far is that the infection jumps from animals to humans, and then spreads among humans. Therefore, the common solution to protect people is to have a clear policy regarding how human-animal contact should and should not be.
Over the past 10,000 years, the physical proximity between humans and other animals has increased significantly. Many new animals have entered human lives and homes. Humans are the only animal species that live alongside other distinct species. Other animal groups do not coexist with different living beings as much as humans do.
Whether this unique practice of humans is right or wrong, wise or innocent, remains unknown. Post the Industrial Revolution, humans haven’t just lived alongside animals; they have created and normalized a bizarre situation called ‘farming,’ where animals are gathered in massive groups (in thousands) in one place. Prior to that, during the era of kings, there were stables to breed horses and elephants in herds. The practice of rearing cattle in herds began thousands of years ago. After the Industrial Revolution, farming—which involves gathering numerous animals and birds—grew into an industry.
Currently, at the government level, anxiety over ‘pandemics’ has faded (though it might not have faded from the minds of wrongdoers). Even if the concern exists, the priority for public planning has diminished. The wave of awareness that arose during the Covid period has cooled down. The policies and preparations of most governments begin only when a crisis hits. Just as we work to strengthen military power during times of peace, we must also focus on capability and preparedness during times when there is no ‘biological war.’
Even though viral and bacterial infections originating from animals are on the rise, “animal farming,” where animals and birds are raised in massive groups specifically for slaughter, has not decreased. Running “wet markets” and slaughtering birds and animals in massive numbers—all of these are increasing. Because all of this has assumed the form of an industry entangled with investments and employment, creating dozens of knots, the world is not in a position to halt this industry.
It is impossible to keep everyone inside a bulletproof glass box all the time to prevent infection. But at the same time, we cannot afford to sit idly by. This is because it is a matter of human survival. The possibility cannot be ruled out that new infections, potent enough to wipe out the entire human race in the future, could spread through animals. Experts say that many dangerous viruses are already waiting to explode.
Despite modern science advancing to such an extent, man is still not free from the menace of viruses. The word ‘virus’ originates from Latin, and in that language, it means ‘poison.’ Whether a virus is fundamentally a living microorganism or non-living matter remains a topic of debate. It possesses characteristics of both living and non-living entities. Every living being requires ‘food.’ The metabolic process that converts food into energy is a fundamental trait of all living things. This basic characteristic is absent in viruses. They do not have an organized structure like cells. They are made of genetic material in the form of DNA or RNA, which is enclosed by a protein coat called a ‘capsid.’ Some viruses (e.g., the flu virus) possess an additional outer layer. A virus without an outer layer is called a ‘naked virus.’ A virus with spike-like structures on its outer layer is called a ‘coronavirus.’ There are two types: DNA viruses and RNA viruses. Because it is formed from ‘nucleic acid’-like ‘genetic’ material and proteins, whether it can be called a living being, or whether it cannot be called so due to the lack of other normal biological functions, remains a complex riddle. It can be described as an ‘infectious, ultra-microscopic semi-living entity possessing both biological and non-biological traits.’
Even though there are suspicions that the Covid-Wuhan virus might be a man-made “bio-bomb,” putting that issue aside for now and looking at the history of all types of viruses, the reality is that everything from the common cold to AIDS are infections that jumped from animals to humans. Some viruses exist only within a single animal species. Those viruses never get an opportunity to enter the body of another animal species. For instance, a virus found only in chimpanzees cannot be expected to infect an elephant. But it is not like that for humans. They have caught numerous types of viruses coming from a wide variety of animals! Biological science states that 20,000 years ago, not a single human in the world could have caught a cold. The cold viruses were the first gift humans received through the sneezes of cattle and horses after they began domesticating them. When there were only wild horses, the cold remained hidden in the wild. In the era of domesticated horses, it entered every home. Tuberculosis (TB), a disease that came to humans through the milk of sheep and goats. It is said that measles and smallpox might have come through cattle. Whooping cough might have come through pigs. Similarly, typhoid fever is an infection that came to humans through chickens. Influenza, commonly known as the flu, came through ducks. Leprosy, which was hidden when there were only wild buffaloes, infected humans during the era of domesticated buffaloes. Many germs remain harmlessly dormant inside the body of their original animal host. However, when they enter the body of another species, they can become dangerous as an infectious disease. For example, the HIV virus was latent in the bodies of primates. When the slaughter of primates began in Africa for the illegal bushmeat trade, it entered the human body and transformed into ‘AIDS,’ a disease that depletes the immune system. Smallpox and plague all came through animals and birds. Viruses, bacteria, fungi, and other parasitic germs present in animal bodies are dangerous to humans. Some germs are not harmful to those specific animals, but they are dangerous to humans who come into contact with them. Diseases like Nipah, HIV-AIDS, Ebola, Rabies, Plague, Swine Flu, Bird Flu, SARS, Influenza, Anthrax, Mad Cow Disease, and Covid have come from animals (some perhaps due to human mischief). After reaching the human body, the process of human-to-human transmission is set in motion.
Ninety percent of the cells in the human body are bacteria! What their internal ecosystem is like is still not fully understood. Antibiotic medicines sometimes kill bacteria that are essential for human life as well. Likewise, bacterial germs develop resistance to these very drugs. The ‘precision technology’ to selectively destroy only unwanted bacteria while preserving the ones required by the body is not yet available (it might become possible through nanotechnology in the future). We still have a lot to learn regarding bacteria management.
There are not many medicines to cure viral infections. When a viral infection occurs, medicines are mostly given to alleviate the symptoms. This is because manufacturing anti-viral drugs is extremely difficult. The reason for this is the nature of viruses. Considerably smaller than cells, they enter living cells, multiplying from one to two, and two to four. They possess the capacity to destroy the cell itself. Although several anti-viral drugs have been invented, they cannot kill all viruses; they merely arrest their development. The body’s natural immune system is the primary defense in overcoming a viral infection. Anti-viral drugs act as a support to this process. Vaccines utilize this very power. However, because there are countless variants of viruses, it is difficult to manufacture medicines that cure all variants.
The dimension of biological warfare cannot be ignored either. In the past, viral pandemics spread on their own. Over time, global syndicates emerged that use a ‘pandemic’ like a global bioweapon. In recent years, viral infections are making more noise on a strategic level.
According to some researchers, certain forces in America and certain forces in China might be conducting dangerous biological experiments. There are several stories about secret labs. Although not everything can be believed, there are many reports that demand attention—such as the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, the Anthony Fauci scandal, the dimension of billionaires and Deep State forces, and the allegations made by Robert Kennedy (Junior), who is currently the US Secretary of Health.
How China suppressed early scientific reports and vanished the doctors who gave warnings; how the Director-General of the ‘World Health Organization’ (WHO) joined hands in the Chinese government’s sinister work of hiding the truth; what his past scandals were (he faced allegations of trying to cover up cholera outbreaks once or twice in the past as well); what kind of assistance China received from American sources—these are not ordinary matters.
Governments must remain constantly vigilant against such evil syndicates.
