High-ranking officials from nations like the United States, Israel, and Brazil have already issued formal statements. Countries including the United Kingdom and Russia have conducted official investigations. In the United States, both the Pentagon and NASA have released multiple verified video recordings. Investigative work by official congressional committees remains ongoing. Even in India, the matter was once raised in the Lok Sabha, where the government noted that an investigation was underway before dropping the subject. Furthermore, numerous books have been authored by researchers, scientists, military officers, and intelligence personnel, alongside accounts from thousands of eyewitnesses who have observed these extraordinary flying machines.
Compelling evidence is readily accessible to those who look for it. Remaining stuck on the introductory question of whether they exist prevents an exploration of more advanced and compelling angles of this phenomenon.
Where Do They Come From?
The primary point of inquiry centers on the origin of these craft. The most common hypothesis suggests they originate from an Earth-like planet elsewhere in the universe. Astronomers have cataloged roughly 5,800 exoplanets (planets outside our solar system).

However, a fraction are believed to possess water and atmospheres. Given that our Milky Way galaxy contains billions of planets, and there are billions of such galaxies across the universe, the statistical probability is immense.
Recently, the James Webb Space Telescope analyzed a planet designated K2-18b. Located approximately 120 light-years away and measuring roughly 2.5 times the size of Earth, this planet orbits within the habitable zone of its host star, where liquid water can exist. Atmospheric analysis of this world revealed biosignatures—chemical compounds typically produced by living organisms. It remains unknown, however, whether this planet hosts intelligent life and an advanced civilization, or merely basic microbial life like bacteria. Determining this is incredibly difficult. When so much about our neighboring planet Mars and even our own Moon remains a mystery, definitive answers about distant exoplanets are hard to come by.
The Technological Gap: Humans vs. Advanced Civilizations
If an alien civilization initiated its technological evolution even a few hundred thousand years before humanity, their scientific capabilities would surpass ours by orders of magnitude. Our proudest technological milestones would appear elementary by comparison. This disparity raises a critical question: if they were to make contact, would we even possess the capacity to comprehend their mode of communication or technology?
The Cosmic Discussion: If an advanced species on a distant planet transmits a message to another highly evolved species on a separate world, we would have no way of knowing. Even if Earth is constantly bathed in high-level cosmic signals from an ongoing intergalactic discussion, the unfamiliar nature of that technology would leave us entirely oblivious to its existence. Consequently, despite knowing the anthill exists, humans simply leave it alone and go about their business.
If civilizations exist that are hundreds of times more advanced than humanity, they would likely view and treat humans exactly how we treat ants. Meaningful relationships and mutual alliances occur among equals; they do not develop between species with vastly disparate capabilities.
Why Do They Visit Us?
If we are viewed as relatively primitive creatures, why do these spacecraft continue to visit Earth? A definitive answer remains elusive.
- Simple Observation: They might simply be observing us from a distance, much like a human studying an anthill.
- Marginal Superiority: The entities operating these craft might only be slightly more advanced than us, leaving open the possibility for either diplomacy or conflict. If their objective involves harvesting Earth’s natural or mineral resources, it could pose a significant challenge.
- The Puranic Continuity: If these entities correspond to the Devas, Yakshas, Gandharvas, or Asuras documented in ancient Indian texts, their awareness of our existence is long-standing, reducing the element of unknown danger.
However, if these are completely unrecognized autonomous machines or biological entities possessing advanced capabilities, the dynamic changes. Just as humans collect ants to study their biological frameworks in a laboratory, advanced entities (or foreign robotic probes) might subject humans to similar analysis. Numerous accounts of alleged UFO abductions circulate publicly. While US defense intelligence officials have quietly investigated the validity of a few specific cases, detailed findings remain classified.
The late physicist Stephen Hawking was among the most prominent scientific figures to publicly warn against the dangers of alien contact, advising humanity to avoid actively broadcasting our presence to the cosmos.

Alternative Dimensions: Space Travel or Time Travel?
The assumption that these spacecraft travel from distant exoplanets is only one possibility. Because these star systems sit many light-years away from Earth, a journey here—even at velocities approaching the speed of light—would require decades or centuries of Earth time. It raises the question: why would an advanced species commit such vast spans of time simply to observe primitive life on Earth?
This dilemma introduces alternative hypotheses that move away from conventional interstellar travel:
- Time Travel: Some experts theorize that these craft are not traveling across physical space from distant star systems, but rather moving across dimensions of time. They could be time-travel mechanisms originating from a completely different era of space-time.
- Wormholes: Theoretical physics allows for the mathematical possibility of wormholes—shortcuts or structural tunnels connecting two distant points in space and time. Navigating through such localized space-time apertures would enable instantaneous transit across the past or the future.
- Hidden Bases: Another theory suggests these entities are not traveling from afar because they have already established covert, long-standing operational bases on Earth (deep within our oceans), on the Moon, or on Mars.
The Abundance of the Cosmos and The Galileo Project
The universe contains an unquantifiable number of celestial bodies, including stars, planets, satellites, asteroids, dwarf planets, and comets. There is no fundamental law of physics dictating that all life forms must mirror the carbon-based biological structure found on Earth.

Given the infinite scale of the cosmos, assuming that Earth is the solitary cradle of life is an outdated perspective, reminiscent of ancient, isolated tribes believing nothing existed beyond their immediate horizon.
Professor Avi Loeb, the long-serving chair of the Astronomy Department at Harvard University, argues that unrecognized interstellar objects from outside our solar system have already drifted into our cosmic neighborhood. A prime example is ‘Oumuamua, a massive celestial object detected passing through our solar system a few years ago. Initially classified as a comet, that definition was later challenged due to its unusual surface properties and anomalous acceleration. Loeb concluded that ‘Oumuamua was not a naturally occurring space rock, but rather an artificially manufactured fragment of technological debris from an unknown origin.
Much like debris floating down a river, Loeb believes fragments of interstellar technology occasionally drift into our solar system by chance. By calculating the trajectory of a known interstellar meteor, he determined that tiny fragments of an alien object had impacted and settled at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
